Wingfield Fete

Set in the historic grounds of St Mary’s Church and Church Farm, it is known for its warmth, its quality, and its unmistakable village character — a fete that feels genuine, generous and rooted in place.
For those who return year after year, it is a highlight of the summer.
For first-time visitors, it often becomes a tradition.

For one magical afternoon, the village comes alive. Children dash from stall to stall, laughter fills the air, dogs strut their stuff in the show ring, music drifts across the fields, and neighbours, old and new, gather over homemade cakes and tea.
Visitors from near and far are drawn to the spirit and joy of a traditional English fete, where history, community, and fun meet in perfect harmony.
At its heart, the Wingfield Village Fete supports St Mary’s Church, a historic landmark at the centre of village life for over 700 years. Every stall, activity, and cup of tea helps care for this remarkable building — keeping it vibrant, welcoming, and full of life for generations to come.

SUPPORTING
St Mary's Church
St Mary’s Church has stood at the heart of Wingfield for centuries — a place of worship, gathering, memory and continuity. Like all historic buildings, time and weather take their toll, and ongoing care is essential to protect it for future generations.
Funds raised through the village fete help with the everyday but vital work that keeps the church standing and welcoming — from roof and stonework repairs, to heating, electrics, accessibility and the gentle conservation that preserves its character and history.
If you’re unable to attend the fete but would still like to support St Mary’s, there are several simple ways to help:
-
Make a one-off donation or small regular gift
-
Sponsor a specific area of care or maintenance
-
Contribute in memory or celebration of someone special
Every contribution, large or small, makes a genuine difference.
With permission, we are happy to thank donors publicly — on the website, at the fete, or in church communications — as part of recognising the collective effort that keeps St Mary’s alive at the centre of our community.
Thank you for helping us care for a place that has quietly cared for Wingfield for generations.
