Wingfield Summer Fete: A Day of Fun, Community, and Gratitude
The Wingfield Summer Fete is always a highlight of the year, and this time was no exception! Despite a chilly breeze, the entire village came together to create our largest and most vibrant community event yet. From the lively stalls to the exciting activities, there was something for everyone, and the atmosphere buzzed with joy and camaraderie.
We can never say thank you enough to all the volunteers and participants who made this day possible. Every single one of you contributed to the fete’s success, and without your dedication, it simply wouldn’t have happened. We hope you all enjoyed the day as much as we did!
The fete was not just about raising funds, though that’s an important aspect—it was about bringing the community together. Highlights of the day included the ever-popular butterfly trail, the thrilling coconut shy, the adorable dog show, the playful hoopla, and the fascinating steam engines. These activities added so much fun and excitement to the event, and their importance goes beyond any financial contributions.
A special thank you goes out to The Mead School and Trowbridge Brass Band, who received donations from the fete’s proceeds. The Brass Band, a fantastic charity-run organization, delivered an exceptional performance, and it was great to see some familiar faces from the village among the musicians.
